In 2023, the Region IV-A (CALABARZON) accounted for the highest classroom shortage in the Philippines, requiring approximately 31,000 classrooms. This was followed by the National Capital Region (NCR) and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). In contrast, the Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR) required the least number of additional classrooms.
