According to a survey conducted at the end of 2023 among derivatives market participants and experts, the main challenge facing the global derivatives market was the impact of bank capital requirements on derivatives trading and clearing, as indicated by one in two respondents. Additionally, the regulatory agenda in the United States and in the European Union, and the volatility resulting from geopolitical conflicts were indicated as significant issues by more than 40 percent of respondents.
