According to a survey that was conducted in Japan during fiscal year 2023, a combined share of 39.2 percent of the respondents in their twenties had either heard about the concept of Web3 or knew about it to varying degrees. Web3, or Web 3.0, commonly refers to a more decentralized version of the internet that makes use of technologies such as blockchains, cryptocurrencies, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
