As of October 2024, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, released in 2022, still held the record for the highest number of peak concurrent players on Steam out of all the titles in the Call of Duty franchise, having reached almost half a million peak concurrent players within a month of its release. Newly-releaed Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 ranked second, with more than 300,000 peak concurrent players less than a week after launch. In addition, COD: Black Ops 6 set a new peak player record since the hub app, Call of Duty HQ, was released.

According to the source, "while Black Ops 6 is sold as a standalone title, it is bundled with Call of Duty HQ as DLC, so SteamDB only shows CCU numbers for the main app, which also includes Warzone (free-to-play mode), MWII, and MWIII."
