During a November 2024 survey among consumers identifying as Black and Pardo Brazilian in Brazil, nearly 65 percent reported preferring products and services identified with the Black cause and/or supporting it. Almost 46 percent said they had already stopped buying from a brand after feeling it disrespected or failed to support their ethnicity, while over 56 percent stated they would actively boycott a brand on those grounds. According to another study, around six in 10 Brazilian consumers stopped buying from specific brands during the two years preceding September 2024, with one-fifth of them also criticizing those companies online.
