In 2023, the highest operating speed of any train in the world was 460 kilometers per hour by the Shanghai Maglev in China. There is a gap of over 100 kilometers per hour between the Maglev and the next fastest trains. The CR Harmony, the CR Fuxing, and the DB ICE 3 in Germany were all able to reach a maximum operating speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
