In 2023, the willingness to pay for ad-free social media platforms was very limited in Germany. Only 13 of respondents were prepared to pay any amount at all for an ad-free Instagram. Almost 60 percent said they would not pay for an ad-free version of this platform. About the same applied to Facebook and TikTok.
