In 2024, annual investment in renewable power in China was estimated at nearly 360 billion U.S. dollars, almost twice the amount invested in fossil fuels in the country. By comparison, Southeast Asia's annual investment in renewable energy in 2024 was estimated at 15 billion U.S. dollars, less than a quarter of the amount invested in fossil fuels in the region that year.

Low-emissions fuels refer to modern bioenergy, low-emissions H2-based fuels, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) associated with fossil fuels and also includes direct air capture.
Other clean power refers to fossil fuel power with CCUS, hydrogen, ammonia, and large-scale heat pumps.
Figures were calculated using the market exchange rate in 2023.
