In 2023, the total volume of card-present transactions (CP) in Israel reached over 1.4 billion. This marked an increase of almost nine percent from the previous year. The total volume of card-not-present payments (CNP) stood at over 745 million in 2023. Over the observed period, there was a gradual increase in the volume of CNP payments, while CP payments experienced a momentary decline in 2020.

'Card-Present Transactions' (CP) refers to payments where the physical card is presented at the point of business by tapping, swiping, or inserting the card.
'Card-Not-Present Transactions' (CNP) refers to payments made not at the point of business, where the physical card is not present. Typically, online or over-the-phone payment.
