In 2024, 46 percent of 18 to 24-year-olds in Germany agreed that they are more likely to engage with advertisements on social media than on other websites. In contrast, only nine percent of respondents aged 55 and older agreed with this statement. Across all age groups in a nationally representative sample, the share stood at 24 percent. These figures show a pronounced generational divide, with individuals under 45 demonstrating significantly higher familiarity and engagement with social media ads than their older counterparts.
