According to a 2024 survey conducted across six countries in Europe and North America, the primary reasons people deposit their paychecks into neobanks are fast payments, convenience, and lower fees. Faster payments were the top choice for respondents in the U.S. and the UK, while convenience was prioritized in Bulgaria, Italy, and across Europe more broadly. In contrast, lower fees were the leading factor for choosing neobanks in Canada and Germany.
