In 2024, 63 percent of girls and 60 percent of boys in Germany aged 10 to 13 years stated that they used social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, or Snapchat several times a week. The younger age groups showed a smaller share, with around 20 percent of six to nine-year-olds using the platforms, while only around three to four percent of four and five-year-olds did the same.
