This is despite the rapid growth of private low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellations such as Starlink, which are planning far more frequent launches over the coming decade. The launch of small LEO satellites has proven far more cost-effective than the launch of larger satellites, such as those placed into geostationary (GEO) orbit.
