The main reason consumers in Mexico bought online during Hot Sale 2024 is because they can receive their purchases at home when buying on the internet, with 33 percent of survey respondents stating this as their online purchase reason. Almost a third of digital buyers surveyed said they prefer shopping online because it saves time and transportation compared with buying in the physical store.

The revenue during Hot Sale 2024 surpassed 34.5 billion Mexican pesos, with an average ticket of 2,391 pesos. During the nine days of the Mexican mega-sale event, more than 12 million digital shoppers participated and placed over 14 million orders.
Is Hot Sale an online-only event?
The Hot Sale started in Mexico in 2014 as a yearly online event where companies offered discounts on their e-commerce platforms. In the 2024 edition, some brands also offered discounts in their physical stores, allowing consumers an omnichannel experience. Nonetheless, the favorite purchase channel was digital, with 59 percent of buyers purchasing products exclusively online, and 13 percent buying only on physical stores.
Fashion leads the way
Digital shoppers showed a preference for fashion products, with over a third of them purchasing goods in this category, making it the most purchased category during the Hot Sale 2024, followed by beauty and personal care products.
