A survey carried out in July 2024 in the United Kingdom found that around 44 percent of the respondents opposed the phase-out of sales of new petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030. In that month, only a third of respondents supported such a measure. Furthermore, around 39 percent of people supported that second-hand petrol and diesel vehicles would be exempted from the sales ban.
