According to a survey from April 2024 that was conducted among managers of companies in Japan with a revenue of more than 50 billion Japanese yen, 55 percent of the respondents expected a shift of employees to more upstream and creative work or new business due to the utilization of generative artificial intelligence (AI). At the same time, 45 percent of the respondents believed in a reduction of labor shortages.

The original sample size consisted of 912 managers, of which 847 aswered that they think that generative AI will replace some or all of one's work.
