In the United States, half of surveyed physicians reported feeling "a great deal of stress because of their job" in 2023. While the share of physicians experiencing job stress has gone down slightly compared to the year before, high levels of stress on the job is harmful for physicians' mental health and can lead to burnout and turnover.
