In 2023, over a third of survey respondents stated that the availability of a battery certificate was just as important as the mileage of the vehicle when buying a used electric car. However, the distribution showed that a slightly larger proportion considered the battery certificate to be more important than the mileage.
For many new car buyers, as well as used car buyers, the condition of the battery plays a decisive role when buying an electric car, as it has a significant influence on the range of the vehicle. In addition, the battery is by far the biggest cost factor for electric cars. Its condition is therefore of central importance when determining the value of used vehicles.
