Half of leading private equity (PE) firms surveyed in Europe used a standardized third-party framework to quantify Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) in the investment cycle. The vast majority of PE firms have an internally standardized scoreboard, measuring ESG at some stage of the investment cycle.

Survey participants consisted of 20 leading private equity firms across Europe, representing 30 percent of private equity assets under management in Europe.
The base of respondents consists of those who use metrics in some part of the investment cycle.
