In 2022, 17.3 hot days were recorded in Germany, which was the highest since 2015. Approximately 982 people had to be treated in hospital due to heat and sun damage. This was an increase on the two previous years. Nonetheless, the number of treatments has decreased significantly since 2019 when1,692 people had to be treated in hospital. The number of hot days, however, was almost the same as 2022.
