Between 2018 and 2022, cereals were the most imported agricultural commodity in Africa, accounting for 20.1 percent of Africa's share in global agricultural imports. It was followed by sugars and sugar confectionery, which represented 14.4 percent of Africa's share in the global imports. Other significantly imported commodities included animal or vegtable fats and oils and tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes.
