In 2023, the recycling volume of batteries in China amounted to 0.61 million metric tons, a 20 percent increase compared to the previous year. With the rise of electric vehicles and renewable energy infrastructure, the demand for batteries increases, which also boosts the need for recycling. Considering the rarity and cost of the battery components, recycling is not just environmentally relevant, but also economically viable.
