In 2023, the recycling volume of paper in China amounted to 67 million metric tons, a 2.3 percent increase compared to the previous year. China is one of the largest paper producers in the world. Therefore, recycled paper constitutes a crucial resource for the domestic industry. However, because paper is often not properly sorted, the utilization of paper waste in China is not optimal. Hence, many paper recycling companies have turned to pre-sorted paper imports.
