In 2023, the highest share of respondents in a survey conducted in South Africa who believed they have enough information about how to vote were in the provinces of Mpumalanga and Gauteng, with shares of 55 and 52 percent, respectively. However, 66 percent of those living in the Northern Cape stated that they had too little information.

According to the source, the survey is nationally representative of the private household population across the nine South African provinces. Five hundred small area layers (SALs) were selected using census 2011 framework.
