Almost 90 percent of private equity (PE) firms or funds surveyed stated their firm has integrated Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations into activities relating to "governance, policies and procedures". The top two most integrated ESG related activities were selected by 95 percent of PE firms surveyed. Almost all firms noted having integrated ESG considerations into both "due diligence" and "monitoring and reporting".

Survey respondents were made up of general or limited partners located across 22 countries and territories across Africa, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Middle East.Â
