According to a bike study published by linexo by Wertgarantie in 2024, the primary reasons why non-cargo bike owners are interested in acquiring a cargo bike are the possibility of transporting freight and children comfortably and to take care of errands more efficiently, with women showing a slightly higher likelihood of indicating that these are the reasons for their interest in cargo bikes. Meanwhile, the lower running cost of a cargo bike compared to other vehicles was a more prevalent reason for interest in a cargo bike among men than among women.
