In a 2024 survey conducted among Australians regarding consumer practices surrounding clothing disposal and purchasing habits, around 82 percent of respondents indicated that the cost-effectiveness of buying secondhand clothing was a key purchase motivator. The environmental benefits of secondhand clothing acquistion was another key motivation among those surveyed.
