According to a survey that was conducted in Japan in August 2023, 38.1 percent of internet users with an annual household income of 10 to 15 million Japanese yen played online games. The survey showed that the share of online gamers was close to or exceeded 30 percent for those with an income of at least four million yen, while it was lower for those with an income of less than four million yen.
