In a survey conducted in mainland China in late 2023, around 83 percent of respondents either strongly agreed or somewhat agreed that they would be willing to attend a same-sex wedding, if invited by a friend or relative. However, eight percent were very certain they would not attend a same-sex wedding.

Original statement in the survey: "If a friend or relative invites me to their same-sex wedding, I would be willing to attend."
Among survey participants, 48 percent were male and 52 percent were female. Additionally, 89 percent had higher education. 71 percent had more than 7,000 yuan of monthly income. Mean age of the participants was 34.2 years.
