In a survey conducted in mainland China in late 2023, three quarters of respondents either strongly agreed or somewhat agreed that same-sex couples could be capable parents. However, five percent strongly disaproved of same-sex parenthood.

Original statement in the survey: "I believe that same-sex couples can also be capable parents."
Among survey participants, 48 percent were male and 52 percent were female. Additionally, 89 percent had higher education. 71 percent had more than 7,000 yuan of monthly income. Mean age of the participants was 34.2 years.
