In a survey conducted in mainland China in late 2023, around 87 percent of respondents either strongly agreed or somewhat agreed that they would not mind seeing content related to LGBTQ community in media reports, movies or social media. However, four percent strongly disagreed with this statement.

Original statement in the survey: "I don’t mind seeing content related to LGBTQ group in media reports, movies, or social media."
Among survey participants, 48 percent were male and 52 percent were female. Additionally, 89 percent had higher education. 71 percent had more than 7,000 yuan of monthly income. Mean age of the participants was 34.2 years.
