According to a bike study published by linexo by Wertgarantie in 2024, 1.7 percent of female respondents indicated that they owned a manual cargo bike, among male respondents this share stood at 1.1 percent. Electric cargo bike ownership is somewhat higher, meanwhile, at two to three percent.

Respondents were able to select multiple options, indicating ownership of a manual and an electric cargo bike.
Respondents could select the category "diverse" to describe their gender. The small number of responses in this category does not allow meaningful analysis and is therefore not included here, but is included in the respondent count.
