In 2024, low-cost airlines accounted for 71 percent of the market share in India. This was the largest share of low-cost airlines compared to the other countries. In contrast, in China, only 12 percent of the market share was held by the low-cost carriers, whereas 88 percent belongs to legacy carriers.
