Over the period given, the seat capacity of low-cost airlines and legacy airlines were following a steady increasing trend until 2019. The following year, these numbers plummeted significantly due to the coronavirus epidemic and its narrowing affects on the industry. However, after the first year of the pandemic, the seat capacity of the airlines rebounded again and reached approximately two billion for low-cost and 4.4 billion for legacy airlines in 2024. This was a significant increase compared to the 2010 values, for both types of airlines.
