As of June 2024, some 2.2 billion U.S. dollars of funding for carbon management programs in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA)/BIL had been awarded or was under negotiation. This accounted for almost 20 percent of the 12.5 billion U.S. dollars appropriated for carbon management. In addition to this, some eight billion U.S. dollars had been awarded for regional clean hydrogen hubs.
