Credit cards were more likely to be used for travel in Canada than in the United States or several other countries in Europe. This is according to a survey held in 7 different countries across North America and Europe. Canada stood out in the survey, as nearly eight out of 10 Canadian respondents said they used a credit card when booking a travel arrangement in the past month. This might not be surprising, as Canada has the highest credit card penetration in the world. What does stand out is that Austria outranked the United States. The number of issued debit cards in Austria outrank credit cards by a significant margin.
