As of May 2024, approximately 40 percent of chief marketing officers (CMOs) surveyed across North America and Northern and Western Europe included chief financial officers (CFOs) among the individuals or groups most skeptical of marketing's value at their companies. Chief executive officers (CEOs) or their equivalents followed closely, mentioned by 39 percent of respondents. Around 30 percent of the responding CMOs selected people employed at marketing functions.
