In 2023, generative artificial intelligence (AI) start-ups in Israel saw a decline in the value of institutional investment, raising only 22 million U.S. dollars in comparison to 220 million U.S. dollars in 2022. This continued a decline in investment from a peak in 2021, when generative AI ventures received 440 million U.S. dollars from financial institutions. Markedly, between 2020 and 2021, the value of these investments shot up by over 15-fold.
