The Adriatic LNG terminal, located offshore the city of Rovigo, accounted for the largest regasification capacity in Italy as of June 2024, amounting to nine billion cubic meters. The terminal Toscana FSRU (Floating Storage Regasification Unit), located offshore the cities of Livorno and Pisa, and the that of Piombino each had a capacity of five billion cubic meters. The country is planning the construction of two LNG terminals, Ravenna and Porto Empedocle, which are forecast to start operations by the end of 2024 and in 2026, respectively.
