In 2023, it was reported that more than eight in 10 adults in Italy had information and data literacy. This refers to the ability to verify the reliability of information, get information about goods or services, or read or download newspapers. Furthermore, over 90 percent reported having communication and collaboration skills, including sending messages with attached files, making calls over the internet, participating in social networks, and taking part in consultation or voting via the internet. Digital content creation was a basic skill for around seven in 10 Italian internet users in the last examined period.
