Get in touch with us nowThe United States holds a plurality of the vote share in the World Bank, with shares of around 15 percent within the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) as well as the Multilateral International Guarantee Agency (MIGA). Voting shares within the World Bank organizations are allocated at the time of membership as well as based on capital subscriptions, and the allocation process varies somewhat from organization to organization. The voting shares have been allocated differently at different points throughout history to reflect the power of emerging economies.
