In a survey conducted in Germany in 2023, German battery-electric vehicle drivers were asked how long they typically wait to use a public charging point. According to the survey results, 37 percent of German respondents do not wait when the charging point is occupied, instead leaving without charging. Moreover, just over a quarter of German BEV drivers reported that they wait up to 15 minutes for charging. On the other hand, only three percent of respondents wait more than one hour for recharging.

An online survey was launched in October 2023 and was answered by 2,065 respondents, of which 1,919 were filled out by non-BEV drivers and 146 by BEV drivers in Germany.Â
