Based on a survey conducted in Germany in October 2023, just over a quarter of respondents wanted a driving range of more than 600 kilometers for a battery electric vehicle. Furthermore, 24 percent of German respondents prefer a BEV driving range of a minimum of 400 to 500 kilometers. The desired range is defined as the number of kilometers that can be driven with a fully charged battery without the need for recharging.

An online survey was launched in October 2023 and was answered by 2,065 respondents, of which 1,919 were filled out by non-BEV drivers and 146 by BEV drivers in Germany.Â
