Over the past five years, Eastern and Southern Africa received the highest annual disbursements by the International Development Association (IDA). In 2023, more than 10 billion U.S. dollars was disbursed to the region, followed by Western and Central Africa with nearly eight billion dollars. The IDA is a part of the World Bank Group and provides loans to low-income countries.
