Over the past five years, commitments by the International Development Association (IDA) peaked in 2022 at nearly 38 billion U.S. dollars. Each year, public administration was the sector that received the highest sum. In Eastern and Southern Africa, for instance, public administration commitments comprised 18 percent of the total commitments from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the IDA. The IBRD and the IDA are parts of the World Bank Group and provide loans to low- and middle-income countries.
