In 2022, maize or corn was the most produced cereal in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a production volume of over 214 million metric tons. South America accounted for about 183 million metric tons of the total production.
Wheat ranked second in the region, with 36 million metric tons produced, followed by rice, with 25 million metric tons of production volume.
