Nike accounted for the highest carbon emissions among the world's biggest fashion brands in 2022, with emissions totaling 18.2 MtCO₂e. Inditex, which includes brands such as Zara and Bershka, contributed slightly less, at 17.7 MtCO₂e. Adidas and H&M followed, with both brands responsible for just over 7.5 MtCO₂e. In total, these 11 major fashion brands accounted for around 73 MtCO₂e in 2022.
The majority of emissions attributable to fashion brands typically come from indirect supply chain activities, such as the production of raw materials and the disposal of products after use.
