As of 2024, Morocco had around 10 billion U.S. dollars worth of investments from Chinese companies in the electric vehicle industry. Gotion High-Tech Co., Ltd. made the largest investment of 6.5 billion U.S. dollars. The investment agreement with the Moroccan government was signed on June 6, 2024, with the aim to build a factory in the city of Kenitra for EV battery production and energy storage systems.
