Share of Europeans who expressed sympathy for overtourism protestors worldwide 2024

An August 2024 survey analyzed the attitude of Europeans towards overtourism protestors in popular travel destinations worldwide. As of that month, roughly two-thirds of respondents in Spain expressed either a great deal or a fair amount of sympathy for overtourism protestors. While 65 percent of the sample in Germany said the same, 36 percent of surveyed Italians had not very much or not at all sympathy for residents of popular travel destinations who protested about overtourism.
