A 2023 survey found that approximately 51 percent of respondents in Indonesia reported having heard of deepfakes. Meanwhile, around 38 percent of respondents were unaware of the technology. Deepfakes are realistic yet deceptive images, audio, or videos generated using artificial intelligence technology.
